Educate Yourself about HIV/AIDS and Human Trafficking
July is National HIV Awareness Month. Honor it by learning about how trafficking victims are at increased risk of becoming HIV positive.
Volunteer Opportunities: Yes
Voices for Dignity was founded as an awareness campaign to speak out against the abuse, exploitation and humiliation of human beings, and to help the victims restore their sense of dignity. We create positive experiences and fun events for survivors designed to remind them of their inner beauty and worth. We promote kindness, compassion and sensitivity towards survivors in person, in law, in the media and online. We defend and support survivors who are being blamed or humiliated in the media and social media. We speak and do trainings on polygamy, human trafficking, cults, psychological manipulation, humiliation, victim sensitivity, victim blaming, media ethics and more. We hold the media and people in powerful positions accountable when they re-traumatize trauma victims. We collect resources, create blogs and provide visual and written media to help activists educate others on these topics.
We help organizations and survivors to be able to speak out, share their stories and make the world a more dignified place.
Specifically, we empower survivors of patriarchal polygamy, cults, human trafficking, prostitution, rape, cyberbullying, media humiliation and other forms of trauma, including psychological violence.
