History

Founded in December 20, 2005 by a group of computer scientists, professors, researchers and graduates in law, SaferNet utilizes research and social projects to combat child pornography available on the Brazilian Internet. Through ongoing dialogue, SaferNet leads actions in pursuit of shared solutions with different actors in civil society, the Internet industry, the Federal Government, the Federal Public Ministry, the National Congress and the Police Authorities. SaferNet also runs a hotline and cyber crime tip report line.

To transform the Internet into an ethical and responsible environment, enabling children, youth and adults to create, develop and expand social relationships, knowledge and exercise full citizenship with safety and tranquility
