The journey of Impulse NGO Network began in 1993. Today, all the organizational activities of Impulse NGO Network are conducted under the 6Rs: Reporting, Rescue, Rehabilitation, Repatriation, Re-Integration and Re-Compensation; as well as the 6Ps: Partnership, Prevention, Protection, Policing, Press and Prosecution.
Impulse works toward ensuring equal human rights for all, particularly women and children. This mission is two-fold: to provide direct assistance to those in need of care, protection, and empowerment and to create networks with the community, other NGOs/CBOs and government bodies to ensure a rights-based approach is used by all.

The intersection of gender-based violence and MMIWG is heavily intertwined. It is important to understand the connection between domestic, dating, and sexual violence and the high incidence of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG) in the United States.
