Founded in 2012, ARM’s mission is to use the Creative Arts to restore and empower individuals who have been exploited through human trafficking.
Individuals robbed of love, kindness, gentleness, grace, and courage have a right to reclaim it. They can be reached and restored. People who are able to love, cherish, and take care of themselves are able to lend an “ARM” to others.
We have proven methods to bring healing , restoration and empowerment to those who have experienced trauma..
According the the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services “When victims had access to trauma -specific services, they recovered from the trafficking experience more quickly and were better able to work on other aspects of their lives.” “Providing alternative to traditional therapies for victims was reported to improve client recovery time and outcomes.” “Alternatives to traditional therapies, especially those build self-esteem, empowerment, and re-connection with self, are considered important adjunct services for this population.” ARM of Care brings these types of trauma-specific programs to the staff and children we serve.
We partner with organizations that serve commercially sexually exploited youth. We provide handcrafted creative arts programs as it is our common goal to give them ways to discover their true value and place in the world.
We have had the privilege of working with staff and children at over eight agencies such as Community Violence Solutions, Love Never Fails, New Day for Children, MISSSEY, Pillars of Hope. ARM of Care is a component of these agencies comprehensive programs for helping the girls recover and integrate healthfully back into the culture.
