Update: "Motel X" has been extended through Sept. 13th, 2020 and renovated due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. It is still interactive, but touch points have been removed and social distancing is encouraged while in the installation (8-12-2020).
"Motel X" is a multi-media art installation that is meant to educate visitors about human and labor trafficking in the Cincinnati area. Created by local filmmaker Christine Marque, "Motel X" is an interactive motel room guests can explore and learn about the dangers of human and labor trafficking. Designed specifically for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, "Motel X" aims to evoke an empathetic link to practical knowledge that can help prevent human and labor trafficking and give visitors the the proper tools and information to fight this atrocity.
