On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 the CNN Freedom Project is inviting schools around the world to participate in #MyFreedomDay, a student-driven event designed to raise awareness against modern day slavery. If you are not a student or teacher, encourage schools in your community to participate!
In 2017, hundreds of schools representing more than 100 countries across 6 continents participated in #MyFreedomDay. They held panel debates, film screenings, and marches to help raise awareness of modern day slavery. Additionally, the efforts from 2017 generated a social media engagement that reach 160 million Facebook users across the word.
This year, CNN is asking young people to answer “What does freedom mean to you?” and share their responses via text, photo or video on social media using #MyFreedomDay.
