According to the Polaris Project law enforcement personnel may come into contact with a trafficking situation during a routine traffic stop, a crisis call, or during a long-term investigation. It is therefore crucial that these professionals be able to recognize the signs and receive continuous training on the best way to make sure that they are fighting the human trafficking system and not those caught in its web.
