Plant a memorial garden to honor victims of modern day slavery.
As a product of the Center for Justice and Reconciliation (CJR) at Point Loma Nazarene University, this site is a contribution to the growing need to understand and engage locally, nationally and internationally around the issues related to human trafficking.
Rooted in San Diego/Tijuana, the first priority of the CJR’s human trafficking work is to contribute to understanding and engaging the reality here in our border region. This local focus allows us to gain practical wisdom by being involved over time and to make a measurable impact where we live. From this experience we also prepare others to be involved internationally.
Through a group we call Beauty for Ashes (see Isaiah 61.3), student interns and volunteers research, raise awareness and actively engage in steps to both reduce the incidences of human trafficking and to care for those caught up in slavery.
